Several times when waking my device, I am presented with a full-screen Google promotion (for example, Download Wallet now) before I even reach the lock screen. I never opted into this, there is no clear disclosure that the device will display advertisements, and there is no user-accessible setting to turn this behavior off.
The issue is not limited to notifications; these are system-level overlays delivered through components like Device Personalization Services or Google Play Services.
They circumvent standard Android notification controls, making them impossible for the average consumer to disable. This creates the impression of an ad-supported device, despite the fact that the phone was purchased at full price with no indication that advertisements would be pushed at the operating system layer.
This practice feels deceptive, as it introduces commercial content in areas of the user interface traditionally reserved for security and core system functions (e.g., the lock screen).
It also resembles the lock-screen ad model used by Amazon on discounted devices except in this case, there was no discount, no disclosure, and no consent.
I am requesting the FTC investigate whether Google is:
Delivering advertising or promotional content through system components without meaningful user consent,
Failing to provide users with a clear opt-out mechanism,
Misrepresenting or failing to disclose that paid devices may display unsolicited commercial content,
Using system-level privileges to bypass normal notification and advertising controls.
Consumers should have complete control over advertising on devices they fully own, especially at the lock-screen level. Googles current approach undermines that expectation and raises questions about unfair or deceptive practices.

Someone purchased something on the Play Store that was not me. I contacted Play the same day.
I got back an email asking for more info, which I provided the moment I received it. I have not heard anything back. So I filed it again, and they sent an email saying the purchase was made for a nonrefundable item.
Call me retarded, but I fail to see how that is my fault or my problem. They have shut down 98% of the phone numbers listed online for you to contact.
So if you want to commit fraud on Google Play, be sure the item you purchase fraudulently is nonrefundable, because you can keep the product, and they will do nothing to investigate it.
It really is a criminal's dream to live in America these days.
First, it is fraud. Then it is punching strangers in the face and walking away just because you can.
Next comes beating up police in broad daylight, and once you have completed all steps, passed Go, and collected $200, go ahead and commit a rape and/or murder in broad daylight on video. The final boss is to see if there is anything worse than what you can do and still get out the same day on cashless bail.

Did not get a 25% discount when I purchased my Google Pixel 10 Pro XL phone even though I have a 200GB Google One membership. I tried to call Google Store customer service with no luck.

Do not call this number if you're trying to reach them. It's an absolute waste of time and you should not do it.

disputing the return of the 8 Pro to me and not receiving credit. The reason given on the return said it was an unknown device.
It is NOT an unknown device. It is as I described and was purchased from the Google Store. I was originally returning it for $230 value with the purchase if the 9 Pro, but when I switched to the 9 Pro XL, I cancelled the return of the 8 Pro and instead entered it as a return for $230 value with the purchase of the 9 Pro XL. I'm attaching screenshots of the emails I received regarding the return showing the excuse it was an unknown device.
Please send me a label to return this Pixel 8 Pro phone again.
